Margaret Atwood -- Because shes amazing...That is all

Atwood was named 'Humanist of the Year' in 1987.

In an interview, Atwood, author of such books as The Handmaid's Tale, was asked if she was raised as a believer. She responded that she was "brought up by a doctrinaire agnostic" and explained "A doctrinaire agnostic is different from someone who doesn't know what they believe. A doctrinaire agnostic believes quite passionately that there are certain things that you cannot know, and therefore ought not to make pronouncements about. In other words, the only things you can call knowledge are things that can be scientifically tested."

A great interview from Wired Magazine with the wonderful, amazing, and many more fawning adjectives Margaret Atwood...Read it here.

Could Indie Bookstores Benefit From Struggling Big Chain Bookstores? (I hope so)

Indiereader.com has written a very interesting article about the slump in sales amongst large chain bookstores due to internet sales rising. I am guilty of ordering things off of Amazon but I usually only purchase it from a used bookstore or indie publisher that use Amazon as their marketplace. 90% of the books I buy are bought from my favorite indie bookstores or they are ordered directly from the publisher/author. The full article is linked below and consider where you spend your money as my good friend Silent Knight says "The buck don't stop when you hand it over"
